The concept of self-healing has gained momentum in recent times, and I couldn’t be more grateful. We all know that life isn’t a bed of roses. We have our share of struggles, tough times, and moments of utter devastation. Other than our childhood conditioning, there are also episodes of heartbreak, grief, failure, and loss that make us suffer. The worst part is that we aren’t even aware of all this emotional baggage holding us back most of the time. This is where the utility of good healing books comes into the picture.
Best Books About Healing! ❤️🩹 👉 ❤️
I have gained an exceptional amount of value from these best self-healing books. They have transformed my personality. I started reading non-fiction, especially self-healing books, in the year 2019. In the last two years, I have found myself facing my traumas, fears, and conditioning and then working on becoming a better person. In this blog, I have talked about some of the best books for healing that will rejuvenate your soul. They will show you the path toward a better life and a better version of yourself. Let’s Begin!
1. Heal: Discover Your Unlimited Potential and Awaken the Powerful Healer Within by Kelly Noonan
Kelly Noonan’s book ‘Heal’ is a companion book to the award-winning documentary named ‘Heal’. You can watch the documentary on Netflix. ‘Heal’ is a culmination of some ‘thought-provoking interviews,’ life stories, and people’s first-hand accounts of the magical healing power of our human body. You will get to read Anita Moorjani’s story on how your body is not a machine. If you are a fan of the author Joe Dispenza, you will undoubtedly devour the foreword that he has written for this book.
He has also shared his story on the Power of your Subconscious Mind. Elizabeth Craig’s Story about The Disease of Resistance and Eva Lee’s story on Food and Nature as Medicine are incredibly resourceful. My favorite chapter from the book is the one that discusses The Placebo Effect, Perception, and Belief. This book is a must-read for those willing to educate and heal themselves. It will provide you with the right inspiration and motivation, along with tools and resources, to start your healing journey. You can get the book here! 📖
2. How to Do the Work: Recognize Your Patterns, Heal from Your Past, and Create Your Self by Nicole LePera
Probably, one of the best things that happened to me in my life was coming across the Instagram page called the holistic psychologist. It’s an Instagram page founded and run by Dr. Nicole LePera. She got her training in Clinical Psychology from Cornell University and The New School of Social Research. As I am writing this, her Instagram page has a whopping 3.8 million followers, where she guides people to heal and create a new version of themselves.
Dr. Nicole starts the book by talking about her initial journey as a psychologist. She was frustrated with the ‘limitations of traditional psychotherapy,’ and that’s why she wanted to establish a system that would unitedly address our physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. I adored the way she explained the disadvantages of the ‘symptom management approach’ of medicine. Our symptoms are our body’s way of communication.
If we observe them mindfully and work our way to the root of those symptoms, we can live healthier lives. However, in our modern medical world, medicines are used to bury the symptoms, and hence we end up silencing whatever our body is trying to tell us. I love how Dr. LePera empowers her readers that we have a choice after all. Throughout the book, she provides several tools that will equip you to heal yourself mentally, spiritually, and also physically.
Some of the examples in the book are mind-blowing. The contents of her book include the New Theory of Trauma, Trauma Body, Mind-Body Healing Practices, The Power of Belief, Meeting you Inner Child, Ego Stories, Trauma Bonds, Boundaries, Reparenting, Emotional Maturity, Interdependence, etc. She has touched upon almost every aspect of our internal environment. I highly recommend this book as it’s a complete package in itself. You can get the book here! 📖
3. You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay
You must know who Louise Hay is before you pick up her book. I made the great mistake of picking up her book before knowing anything about her. However, once I read her story, I reread the book like I was reading it for the first time. I had to. That’s the least I could do for Louise Hay to express my respect for her. When Louise was just eighteen months old, her parents were divorced, which meant her mother had to work as a live-in-domestic, leaving Louise to be cared for by someone else.
Her mother then married a brutal man; hence when Louise was just five years old, she was stuck in a home of violence. To make things worse, their neighbor, who was an old wino, raped her. Even though the man was sentenced to prison for fifteen years, everyone blamed Louise. The violence continued, and for most of her childhood, she had to endure physical and sexual assault along with working hard to survive. She gave birth to a baby girl when she was just sixteen and found a loving home for her.
However, the shame and guilt of that lived within her. Later in life, her marriage of fourteen years came to an end as her husband decided to marry someone else. She was devasted, but she did not give up. She pulled herself together and began her self-healing journey. She published her book ‘Heal your body’ and traveled a lot to lecture on the topic. She was then diagnosed with incurable cancer. The word incurable sent Louise into a total state of panic, but she persevered.

She thoroughly focused on her physical and mental cleansing, and within six months of her diagnosis, she was cancer-free. You must be wondering what she did to heal herself. Well, if you want to know the answer, then you must read this book. She has shared multiple practical exercises in her book that, if you do daily, will help you to break out of your patterns. 4. Healing Is the New High: A Guide to Overcoming Emotional Turmoil and Finding Freedom by Vex King
I love reading Vex King’s writing because it’s relatable and accessible. Not only his books but his Instagram daily posts are just as helpful and valuable. In his first book, “Good Vibes, Good Life,” he talked about the law of vibrations. To attract good things, you need to vibe on a higher frequency. Your energy should match the energy of the thing you are trying to attract, whether it’s money, a promotion, or a life partner. A lot of times, because of our conditioning, we fall into regressive patterns.
Such patterns are fueled by self-doubt, lack of self-esteem, etc. These patterns block the incoming of good things. By practicing self-love, we can remove these blocks and accept the abundance that we truly deserve. However, practicing self-love can be tricky. It’s challenging to love yourself when you are still living with your past emotional baggage and traumas. Hence, healing from them becomes imperative. Vex King has covered all of this in his new book.
He also shared his own story about how he lived in abusive households during his childhood, which traumatized him in his adult life. He also shared his relationship failure, where his girlfriend cheated on him and manipulated him. Vex King has provided practical tips and exercises in the book that will help you to gain perspective and heal your body, soul, and mind. He breaks down an exercise into actionable steps so the reader can practice them easily. It’s a must-read book for everyone. So, don’t forget to pick up your copy. You can get the book here! 📖
5. The Power of Your Subconscious Mind by Dr. Joseph Murphy
Almost all of us have heard about this book somewhere or the other. In fact, “The Power of Your Subconscious Mind” was my first non-fiction read. It introduced me to the concept of how we all deserve abundance and that we have an unlimited source of intelligence and potential. We need to tap into our subconscious and draw all that awesomeness. However, our subconscious is also like a garden. You grow what you sow, water, and nourish. Our thoughts are the seeds that we need to plant into our subconscious mind, water them every day via affirmations, and nurture them with our beliefs.
This is the classic book on healing that everyone should read, especially beginners. The book covers how our subconscious mind affects every area of our lives. You will find several case studies on people who healed themselves with the power of their subconscious minds. The author has also shared multiple affirmations and exercises that will help you work on your subconscious mind. So, if you are suffering in your life, maybe because of your job, or relationship, or anything for that matter, then this is a must-read for you. You can get the book here! 📖
6. You Are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life by Jen Sincero
Jen Sincero is the best friend we all need in our lives. Her books have been my best friends when I was at my lowest. She is an incredible writer and, of course, a remarkable woman. Her writing is palpable. It’s raw and alive. Her words don’t feel like guidelines or rules. Instead, she sounds like a friend who knows exactly what you are growing through because she has been there. She has hit rock-bottom in her life.
She did fall into destructive patterns. And she knows what it’s like to be a slave of your bad habits. However, she rose as a phoenix rises from the ashes. And her book will make you do the same. Her book will inspire you to find the badass in you and build the life of your dreams. There are 27 chapters in this book that cover how we self-sabotage because of our limiting beliefs. Our behavior is a direct reflection of the conditioning we have received throughout our childhood.
And such conditioning can make our view of the world restrictive and limited. However, we all deserve great things in life. The beginning of all great things is our belief. Every invention was once just an idea. It was a product of wild imagination. But when fueled with confidence and actions, the vision manifested into our reality. You can get the book here! 📖 In the same way, once we believe in our greatness, we can truly achieve great things. The best part about Jen Sincero’s writing is that you will find her highly relatable.

She talks about the things that truly matter. For example – Do you also find yourself trying to make ends meet? No matter how much you try to save, you still keep struggling to pay your bills. It’s not about how much money you make; it’s about the relationship you have established with money. I loved her take on money and finance. I also recommend her book “You Are a Badass at Making Money” as it’s full of lessons on healing your relationship with money.
I also want to mention some other books, such as The Secret by Rhonda Byrne, The Untethered Soul by Michael Alan Singer, Reasons to Stay Alive by Matt Haig, and The Gifts of Imperfection by Brene Brown. It can be about childhood trauma, personal recovery, narcissistic abuse, broken heart, inner child, divorce, pregnancy-related, spiritual healing, etc.
